The Creative Light Studio

About me... photography, life and everything in between.

Creative Light Studio opened its doors in January of 2011, but before that happened there is so much more to the story.

Creativity is more than just a word... it is who I am. You see, my father has been in the advertising industry for longer than I have been alive. The joke in our family is that he was dying for one of the kids to be artistic and he found it in me. I couldn't go anywhere, and I truly mean anywhere, without crayons and paper. I preferred plain white paper to coloring books because the opportunities were endless with a blank sheet. Who wants to stay in the lines anyway? One of my favorite memories is when I was about 10 my dad let me help him spec a billboard layout for a local restaurant. My parents would buy me x-acto knives and Bestine for Christmas during those years. What kid gets excited about x-acto knives and Bestine? Me.

With that background I grew up reveling in the opportunity to go to my dad's office to see the creative department and marvel at how they came up with those awesome sketches. That grew into AP art in high school and a love for painting. Graphic Design was always in my mind but my high school only offered one class by the time my senior year rolled around. It was enough to wet my appetite and go after a Graphic Information Design degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. After college I convinced my husband to move back to Cincinnati with me where I got a job at my parents' advertising agency (logically) and adopted two adorable German Shorthair Pointers.

So where does the photography come into play? A while back I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to train on the job with another wedding photographer. In those two years I learned so much and enjoyed every minute. When the opportunity came up, I knew I could start my own company and truly love my job. So that is where we pick back up... Creative Light Studio opened its doors in January 2011.

It has been an awesome roller coaster ride thus far - and in my hometown of Cincinnati none the less. I am so excited that WeddingWire.com has recognized us for the Bride's Choice Awards four years in a row - which recognizes the top 5% of wedding vendors on the WeddingWire.com network based on customer reviews... so thank you brides - I couldn't have done it without you.

Cincinnati Photography, Wedding Photography, Engagement Photography are just the beginning. If you have ideas for a photo shoot, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks!
